Please do not throw any reusable items in the garbage during your move out.
Send them to us!
UWinnipeg residents' are welcome to donate reusable items from your dorms upon move out that you do not wish to take with you. These items will go to helping community members in need.
There will be donation bins on the 2nd floor of McFeetors Hall (near the laundry room) and on the 1st floor of each of the Balmoral Street houses.
The UW participates in this initiative to partner with organizations in our community and to divert items from our landfill that could be reused by community members in need.
Accepted items include:
- School supplies
- Housewares
- Games
- Books
- Linens
- Clothing
- Children's toys
No broken, unwashed, or open chemical products please.
In 2023 UWinnipeg diverted 225kgs of reusable items from the landfill through this initiative and our chosen donation organizations were Centre Flavie, Main Street Project, and Oyate Tipi.
