Â鶹´«Ã½ provides wireless network service on campus to all Faculty, Staff and Students through a service named Eduroam. Eduroam (education roaming) is a secure, worldwide roaming wireless network developed for the international research and education community. Service is available to everyone who has either a UWinnipeg email or webmail account.
Once you connect to Eduroam, you will enjoy the ability to automatically connect whenever you visit a participating institution. Currently, there are several million eduroam users enjoying free seamless internet access at education institutions in nearly 100 countries around the world.
This page contains instructions on how all Faculty, Staff and Students can connect their personal devices to campus Wi-Fi. Eduroam and UW-GUEST are Wi-Fi networks available to you!
UW-GUEST is intended for campus visitors, but you can use it to help configure your device for eduroam, if your device does not have a data plan.
Below are the instructions on how to connect your personal device (Windows, Apple, Android, and MAC) to eduroam (and UW-GUEST, when required). Please use the section that applies to your device.
SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
These steps must be done while on campus.
Throughout this document, your credentials to logon to eduroam or UW-GUEST are:
Username – your UWinnipeg email address
Password – your UWinnipeg email password
- Make sure that your device has internet access. You can connect to UW-GUEST for internet access.
- Download the eduroam installer from https://geteduroam.app
- Run the installer – make sure to select ‘University of Winnipeg’
- Connect to eduroam and enter your credentials
- You should now be connected to eduroam

- Make sure that your device is using LTE (cellular data) for Internet access. If LTE is not available, you can connect to UW-GUEST.
- Click on Google Play. Search for the geteduroam app. Install the app.
- Run and configure the geteduroam app:
a.) Select University of Winnipeg for your institution
b.) Enter your eduroam credentials
c.) You are now connected to eduroam

APPLE iOS (iPhone and iPad) DEVICES
- Make sure that your device is using LTE (cellular data) for Internet access. If LTE is not available, you can connect to UW-GUEST.
- Go to the App Store. Search for the geteduroam app. Install the app.
- Run and configure the geteduroam app:
a.) Select University of Winnipeg for your institution
b.) Enter your eduroam credentials
c.) You are now connected to eduroam

APPLE - MACS
- Make sure that your device has internet access. You can connect to UW-GUEST for internet access.
- Download the eduroam installer from . Search for the University of Winnipeg to get the correct installer.
- Run the eduroam installer.
- Connect to eduroam and enter your credentials.
- You should now be connected to eduroam.
