Eligibility

Applications for the 2024-2025 Co-op Program are now closed.

  • Application deadline: September 1

Eligibility Requirements:

Read all of the requirements carefully.  In order to be eligible for the Co-op Program the following student requirements must be met:

1. Students must be registered in an undergraduate degree program within the departments of Applied Computer Science, Business, or Economics at the University of Winnipeg.

  1. If you pursuing a degree outside of these areas, please contact your department to see what Work-Integrated Learning opportunities may be available to you. Areas of study outside those mentioned above are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

2. Completed at least 21 credit hours of study prior to start of Co-op program.
3. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (CGPA)
    and/or in the case of the following:

  1. Transfer students must have 21 credit hours of courses from another institution, and maintain a GPA of 3.0 throughout the Academic Year.

4. Students MUST submit all of the following in order to be considered:

a. A completed application form.
b. A recent resume.
c. Personal reflection.
d. At least two references (they must be available for contact by our office).
b. An unofficial transcript (this can be a screenshot from WebAdvisor).

5. Students must be returning to University after completing their work term (no exceptions)

6. Students may submit any additional information via email that may be relevant to gaining acceptance into the program. For example: portfolio of accomplishments *optional*

Next Steps in the Intake Process:

  1. Applications must be received between June 1 and September 1.
  2. All applications are reviewed as they are submitted during the Application period.
  3. If your application meets the Co-operative Education Program's Eligibility requirements, you will be invited to an interview with members of the Co-op Selection Committee. Each interview is 20-30 minutes.
  4. The Co-op Selection Committee reviews each applicant's information, personal reflection, and interview to make an informed decision on whether an applicant will be admitted to the Co-op Program. Places in the Co-op program are limited.
  5. Once a Letter of Offer to join the Co-op Program has been extended and accepted, the student will have to pay the Co-op Fee ($574.30 for the 2024/2025 year - subject to change without notice).
