Annual (Academic Year) Fees
The Fitness Centre Levy (fee) is used to support the operation of the Bill Wedlake Fitness Centre within the Duckworth Centre. This fee provides students with a free membership to the Duckworth Fitness Centre. This fee was approved by student referendum in 2007.
The Facility Fee is for the maintenance of Â鶹´«Ã½'s buildings and facilities.
The UWSA Levy is charged by the UWSA (Â鶹´«Ã½ Students' Association.) This fee is used to fund the Canadian Federation of Students (National and Manitoba), the CKUW radio station, the UWSA Daycare, World University Service of Canada (WUSC), National Campus and Radio Association (NCRA), the Uniter newspaper, the United Speakers Series, the Bike Lab and the Positive Space Program. Per Term Fees
The RecPlex Fee was a fee voted upon and approved by a student referendum in October 2011 to help fund the construction of the Axworthy Health and RecPlex. It is not a usage fee. The RecPlex Fee is used to pay the building’s mortgage. This fee also provides free student access to Wesmen sporting events.
The UWSA U-Pass Fee is for the UWSA and Winnipeg Transit’s universal bus pass program. It provides full-time students with unlimited transit access (September-December and/or January-April) for discounted fee per term. The U-Pass Fee is mandatory and was approved by a student union referendum in the fall of 2014. Please visit the website for additional details.
The U-Pass Fee is applied to students' accounts who are registered in at least 9 credit hours in a term for a given fall or winter term. The fee may not be applied concurrently with other fees; it may be applied to a students' account up to a week afterwards. Students should review their accounts prior to the payment deadline and during the Add/Drop (full refund) period to ensure their balances are paid each term.
Per Credit Hour Fees (All Courses)
The Registration Fee is levied to off-set some of the costs associated with registration.
The Student Services Fee (previously named Ancillary Fee) off-sets some of the cost of services that directly impact the student experience including student health services, student counselling, student scholarships and bursaries, and other student supports.
The Information Technology Fee is used to support the costs of improving and maintaining IT infrastructure (such as the wireless network, charging stations and computer labs) at the University.
The UWSA - Building Fee is charged by the UWSA (Â鶹´«Ã½ Students' Association). This is the main source of the UWSA's capital funding.

Per Credit Hour Fees (Specific Courses)
The Menno Simons Student Service Fee is charged by Menno Simons College for their courses. International Development Studies and Conflict Resolution Studies courses are offered by Menno Simons College. This fee funds MSC-specific advising, student events, student lounge, membership in the Menno Simons College Students' Association and other student services.
The Menno Simons Ancillary Fee is an administrative fee charged by Menno Simons College for their courses. International Development Studies and Conflict Resolution Studies courses are offered by Menno Simons College.
The Lab Fee is charged by various departments to pay for additional costs (such as lab consumables, computer program licenses, equipment, etc.) associated with the course.
The Education Practicum Fee is charged by the Faculty of Education to support the administrative costs associated with placing student teachers in host schools. In courses that include blocks of practicum, the practicum fee also supports the costs related to faculty supervision of students at host schools.
The EDSA Education Levy is charged by the UWinnipeg Education Students' Association - EdSA (as approved during the 2018 General Election). All Education (EDUC) courses are charged a 25 cents per credit hour levy as a means to create awards, bursaries, grants, or foundation investments with the express purpose of supporting Education students at Â鶹´«Ã½.
The Theatre Levy is charged by the Theatre and Film Department for their courses. This fee was voted on and approved by the Theatre Students' Association to cover the purchases of furnishings, equipment and new acquisitions for the Theatre Building.
The Theatre Tech Fee is charged by the Theatre and Film Department for their Film Studies courses. It is charged to cover the wear and tear on equipment lent out by the THFM Department. It is charged per film course including Intro to Film (THFM-1010.)
The Online Fee is applied to all online courses. The proceeds from the fee are invested back into the development and maintenance of quality online course offerings.
